| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl drop earring with matching pearl necklace, as modelled by engraver Raphael David Maklouf. The effigy occupies the central field with fine detail in the hair and regalia. The legend ELIZABETH II runs along the left periphery, while ISLE OF MAN appears to the upper right and the date 1996 to the lower right. The engravers' initials RDM and the Pobjoy Mint mark PM appear at the base of the bust truncation. The coin is bordered by a fine toothed milling along the rim. |
