Issued to mark the 1999 wedding of Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones, this is one of dozens of commemorative crowns the Isle of Man Treasury produced throughout the 1990s under licensing arrangements that made the island one of the most prolific sources of British royal commemoratives in circulation. The Queen Mother appears here in her capacity as a senior family figure at the event, then aged 98.
