| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Raphael Maklouf, wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl drop earring with a pearl necklace visible at the truncation. The hair is elaborately styled in curls. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, ISLE OF MAN along the upper right, and the date 2000 at the lower right, all in raised Latin lettering. A small PM privy mark for the Pobjoy Mint appears at the lower left of the bust truncation. The deeply mirrored proof fields provide strong contrast against the finely detailed relief portrait. |
