| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a diamond tiara, pearl drop earring, and pearl necklace, as designed by Raphael David Maklouf (third definitive portrait). The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, while ISLE OF MAN curves along the upper right, and the date 1996 appears at the lower right.
