Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, is portrayed in right-facing truncated bust, wearing a tiara and a light draped garment. The portrait is rendered with fine sculptural detail characteristic of the Rank-Broadley series. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left field, and 'GIBRALTAR 2001' continues along the lower right periphery. A beaded border frames the entire design, enhanced by the deeply mirrored proof fields typical of Pobjoy Mint striking.
