Reverse description A left-facing crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is superimposed at the centre of a colourised Union Flag, rendered in full colour to evoke the heraldic splendour of the British sovereign's historic milestone. The legend arching around the upper field commemorates Her Majesty as the longest reigning monarch in British history, while the denomination ONE CROWN appears within the lower portion of the legend. A central dot separates the closing elements of the inscription.

Additional information

Struck to mark Elizabeth II surpassing Victoria's reign length on September 9, 2015 — the milestone Gibraltar chose to commemorate with a colourised crown alongside dozens of other issuing territories that year. The gold-plated copper-nickel format is characteristic of the commemorative souvenir market rather than anything intended for circulation, and Gibraltar, as a British Overseas Territory, has issued Crown-sized pieces prolifically since the 1970s under licence.
