| Additional information |
This crown was issued as part of Gibraltar's prolific commemorative program of the early 1990s, a period when the territory produced an unusually high volume of collector-targeted pieces under the authority of the Gibraltar Government Mint. George IV's connection to Gibraltar is largely indirect — his reign (1820–1830) saw British imperial administration consolidated across Mediterranean outposts, but no singular event tied him specifically to the Rock.
KM#136 is one of dozens of thematically similar crowns from this run, most struck by Pobjoy Mint on behalf of Gibraltar.
