Issued on the bicentenary of Nelson's death at Trafalgar on 21 October 1805, this Pobjoy piece is one of several commemorative strikes competing for the same collector market that year — the Royal Mint, Gibraltar, and multiple other authorities all produced Trafalgar bicentennial coinage in 2005 and 2006. The one-year delay from the actual anniversary is worth noting when dating a collection.
