Obverse description The obverse features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Raphael Maklouf, rendered in the style used on Gibraltar coinage from this period. Surrounding the portrait, the Latin legend reads ELIZABETH II D.G.REGINA GIBRALTAR, translating as 'Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen of Gibraltar.' The denominational value and the date of issue, 2022, appear within the field. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a plain field, consistent with standard numismatic practice for Gibraltar crown coinage of this era.

Reverse description The reverse bears two colour-printed photographic images separated by a central ornamental device. The upper image depicts the young Princess Elizabeth alongside her mother Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother), her father King George VI, and her sister Princess Margaret at Windsor Castle in 1940 during the Second World War. The lower image shows Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with Prince Charles and Prince William on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations on 5 June 2012. The two photographs are divided by a sceptre entwined with sprigs of oak, flanked at each end by St Edward's Crown, with the shield of the Royal Coat of Arms positioned at the centre, all referencing the House of Windsor. The reverse also incorporates the famous dedication speech quote: 'I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.'
