Part of the Pobjoy Mint's extended Harry Potter licensing run, this 2002 Isle of Man crown series capitalized on the franchise at its commercial peak — the year Chamber of Secrets hit theaters and the book series had already sold over 100 million copies worldwide. The Isle of Man's liberal commemorative licensing policy made it a favored jurisdiction for exactly this kind of pop-culture issue. The "Silver Proof" designation in the name is misleading: KM#1150a is copper-nickel, not silver — the true silver proof carries a separate catalog number.
