Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, with a pearl drop earring and necklace visible, rendered in the third definitive effigy designed by Raphael David Maklouf. The legend ELIZABETH II runs vertically along the left rim, while ISLE OF MAN curves along the upper right, and the date 2000 appears at the lower right, followed by the engraver's initials RDM. The portrait is set within a finely milled border.

Reverse description Full-length portrait of the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro in armour and plumed helmet, holding a lance in his right hand and a sword at his side, positioned to the left of centre in the field. To his right is a period cartographic shield depicting the Inca city of Cuzco, inscribed with the legend PIZARRO SEIZES INCA EMPEROR and CUZCO. The curved legend FRANCISCO PIZARRO 1475-1541 arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 1 CROWN appears in two lines at the bottom of the field.
