Additional information

The 1996 UEFA European Championship, hosted by England, marked the first major tournament held there since the 1966 World Cup. Bulgaria arrived on the back of a remarkable 1994 World Cup run that had taken them to fourth place, while Romania, led by Gheorghe Hagi, had also impressed in the United States. Neither side advanced from the group stage at Euro 96.

The Isle of Man issued an extensive series of crowns covering every group-stage matchup of the tournament — KM#632 is one of roughly two dozen pieces in that run.
