Additional information

Gibraltar has issued commemorative crowns under royal warrant since the 1970s, and its licensing agreements with major entertainment estates have made it a prolific source of pop-culture coinage. The Elvis Presley estate granted rights for this series marking what would have been Presley's 86th year. "Jailhouse Rock" was recorded at Radio Recorders in Hollywood in April 1957 and released as the title track of the MGM film of the same year — it hit number one on the Billboard pop, R&B, and country charts simultaneously, a commercial sweep almost without precedent at the time.
