The Diamond Wedding commemorative series, issued by the Manx government in 2007, marks sixty years of marriage between Elizabeth II and Prince Philip — one of the longest marriages in British royal history. The Isle of Man has long leveraged its status as a Crown Dependency to issue commemorative coinage outside Royal Mint constraints, giving Pobjoy Mint, its longtime striking partner, considerable latitude on output volumes and design selection.
The KM#1319a designation distinguishes this silver proof from the base metal circulation strikes in the same series, of which several variants were produced concurrently.
