Reverse description The central field features a black-and-white photographic-style depiction of a tank disembarking from a military transport vessel, evoking the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944. A coloured Union flag is superimposed above the central scene, providing a vivid chromatic accent. Flanking the central motif to the left and right are the flags of the principal Allied nations rendered in colour. The names of the five Normandy landing beaches — UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO, and SWORD — are inscribed in a horizontal band below the central image. The denomination ONE CROWN and the anniversary designation 70th appear within a decorative wreath at the base of the reverse, alongside the legend D DAY. 6TH JUNE 1944.
