| Additional information |
Issued on the 50th anniversary of the Normandy landings, this piece is one of dozens of commemorative crowns the Isle of Man Treasury produced through the 1980s and 1990s under an aggressive licensing strategy that made the island one of the most prolific commemorative issuers in the world. Pobjoy Mint struck the bulk of these issues on contract.
KM#699 is one of several D-Day variants catalogued for this year — Krause lists multiple reverse types within the same commemorative program.
