| Additional information |
Saint Helena issued this crown to mark the 25th anniversary of Elizabeth II's coronation — a modest output from one of the British Empire's most isolated dependencies, a volcanic speck in the South Atlantic some 1,200 miles from the nearest continent. The island's mint authority at the time relied entirely on contract striking through the Royal Mint, giving these proof issues their characteristically sharp finish despite the territory's negligible domestic numismatic infrastructure.
The .925 silver proof variant, catalogued separately from its cupro-nickel circulation counterpart as KM#7a, was produced in strictly limited numbers for collector distribution.
