Obverse description The obverse bears the right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Arnold Machin. The Queen wears a tiara and is depicted with a refined, classical portrait style characteristic of Machin's work for Commonwealth coinage. The legend 'ISLE OF MAN' arcs along the left field and 'ELIZABETH II' along the right, with the date '1984' inscribed in the lower exergue. The coin's surface exhibits a deeply mirrored proof finish with a finely beaded border.
