Reverse description Central design featuring two overlapping heraldic shields: the arms of the College of Arms (quartered with fleurs-de-lis and lions passant guardant) and the arms of the Earl of Derby, displayed in high relief against a polished field, with a fleur-de-lis at the base where the shields converge. Above the shields, a crowned lion passant is depicted as a crest upon a mantling, flanked on either side by fleurs-de-lis in the upper field. The entire composition is encircled by a decorative rope or chain border. The commemorative legend QUINCENTENARY OF THE COLLEGE OF ARMS arcs across the upper portion of the field, while the lower arc bears the inscription ONE CROWN, all interspersed with the dates 1484 and 1984 on the respective sides.
