| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, a pearl drop earring, and a pearl necklace. The hair is elaborately dressed in soft waves beneath the ornate crown. The legend QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper field, with FALKLAND ISLANDS and the date 2017 arranged along the right periphery. The Pobjoy Mint initials PM appear in small letters at the lower left of the effigy, within a recessed inner border separating the portrait from the frosted rim. |
