Additional information

The Isle of Man's annual cat coin program, running since 1988, has built a dedicated collector following largely because the Manx cat holds genuine cultural significance on the island — it is native to Man and appears on civic crests. The Bengal was a relatively new breed in 2002, having gained TICA recognition only in 1983 after Jean Mill's crossbreeding program with Asian leopard cats.

Struck in .9999 fine gold at one troy ounce, this is the bullion-grade variant of the series. Pobjoy Mint, which produced Isle of Man coinage for decades, handled this issue.
