Obverse description Fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted as a right-facing diademed and draped bust occupying the central field. The portrait renders the Queen's hair in finely detailed relief, with a small diadem set at the crown of the head. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH II to the upper left and GIBRALTAR to the upper right, with the date 2001 positioned at the lower right; the engraver's initials IRB appear truncated at the base of the bust. A fine dentilated border frames the entire obverse.
