Obverse description Uncrowned effigy of King Edward VIII facing left, with a bare head showing neatly combed hair, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail. The truncation of the bust shows the collar and lapel of a jacket. The surrounding legend reads EDWARD • VIII • KING • & • EMPEROR, disposed in a circular arrangement around the periphery. The field is plain and the design is contained within a fine beaded border.

Reverse description A detailed scenic view of Peel Castle on St Patrick's Isle, depicted from the sea with its ruined towers and battlements rising above the rocky shoreline. In the foreground, a traditional sailing vessel is moored at a quay where two figures stand, one with a telescope to his eye. Above the central scene, the triskelion symbol of the Isle of Man is displayed in the upper field. The date 1936 is divided on either side of the inner circle, flanked by the legend PEEL CASTLE above and ISLE OF MAN below, all within a beaded border.
