The shield is surmounted by the Imperial State Crown and flanked by the royal cyphers 'E' and 'R' beneath smaller crowns on either side. The motto scroll at the base bears the inscriptions 'DIEU ET MON DROIT' and 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE'. The circumferential legend 'FID:DEF: IND:IMP:' appears in the upper arc, with 'ANNO · 1936' along the lower arc, all within a toothed border.
