| Obverse description | Right-facing draped and crowned bust of King Edward VI, rendered in the flat, linear style characteristic of mid-Tudor hammered coinage. The king wears an ornate crown with fleurs-de-lis and cross pattée decoration. The effigy is set within a beaded inner circle, with the royal legend arranged around the periphery beginning at the upper left. A mintmark appears above the bust at the commencement of the legend. |

| Reverse description | A crowned royal shield of arms quartering the arms of England and France, displayed centrally within a beaded inner circle. The royal cypher 'E' appears to the left of the shield and 'R' to the right, denoting Edwardus Rex. A mintmark is positioned to the right of the crown surmounting the shield. The encircling Latin legend occupies the outer field between the inner and outer beaded borders. |
