| Reverse description | The reverse bears a faithful color reproduction of the iconic Penny Red postage stamp, with the field rendered in deep crimson red enamel. At the centre, a left-facing diademed and draped bust of the young Queen Victoria is depicted in high relief in uncolored silver, closely replicating William Wyon's celebrated effigy as used on the original 1841 stamp. Corner ornamental lattice designs flank the central vignette at all four corners. The inscription POSTAGE appears at the top of the stamp design and ONE PENNY. is inscribed at the base, with plate letters A at the lower left and lower right corners, all in Latin script. |
