Reverse description Four crowned cruciform shields bearing the arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland arranged in a cross pattern, with interlinked CC (Carolus Cypher) monograms in the four angles. A central Garter star occupies the heart of the design. The date 1662 is divided either side of the top shield, appearing as 16 and 62. The circumferential Latin legend MAG· BR·FRA· ET·HIB· REX· runs around the periphery between the milled border and the shields, completing the royal titulature.
