Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of Emperor Franz Joseph I occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the emperor's aged facial features, beard, and military collar. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower portion of the field. A circular legend surrounds the effigy, reading FRANZ·JOSEPH·I·KAISER·VON·OSTERREICH·, with raised dot separators between words. The overall design reflects the restrained classicism characteristic of early twentieth-century Austrian medallic art.
