Obverse description Crowned shield bearing the coat of arms of the Marquisate of Saluzzo, surmounted by a crested helmet facing left, from which emerges the upper half of a crowned eagle displayed with wings spread, serving as the heraldic crest. The design is rendered in the late medieval hammered style typical of northern Italian marquisate coinage.
