| Obverse description | Crowned shield bearing the coat of arms of the Marquisate of Saluzzo, surmounted by a crested helmet facing left, from which emerges the upper half of a crowned eagle displayed with wings spread, serving as the heraldic crest. The design is rendered in the late medieval hammered style typical of northern Italian marquisate coinage. The encircling legend reads MICHAEL ANT M SALVTI, identifying the issuing marquis Michele Antonio. |
