| Reverse description | A five-line Latin inscription occupying the central field, recording the elector's full imperial titles along with the date 1768 and the Amberg mint mark A, the whole enclosed within a wreath formed by intertwined palm and laurel branches tied at the base. The inscription reads SAC ROM IMP ARCHID & ELECT LAND LEUCHT * AD NORMAM CONVENT. 1768 A, identifying Maximilian III Joseph as Archchancellor of the Holy Roman Empire and Elector, and attesting to the coin's striking in conformity with the Convention standard of 1753. The overall composition is symmetrical and typical of mid-eighteenth century German taler reverses. |
