Reverse description Central device depicting the badge of the Order of Ludwig (Ludwigsorden) rendered as a Maltese cross, with the words LUDWIG at the top arm, BAYERN at the left arm, KOENIG at the right arm, and NOA at the bottom arm inscribed on the cross. A circular medallion at the centre of the cross bears a right-facing portrait bust of the king. The cross is flanked by a wreath composed of olive branches to the left and oak branches to the right, tied with a ribbon at the base. The date 1827 appears in the exergue below the wreath, and the circumferential legend STIFTUNG DES LUDWIGS-ORDENS arcs around the upper periphery within a beaded border.
