Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Friedrich August III, Elector of Saxony, rendered in high relief with finely detailed flowing hair and an elaborately embroidered mantle with decorative clasp at the chest. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRID·AVGVST·D·G·DVX·SAX·ELECTOR, distributed around the portrait. The date 1792 appears in the lower exergual area beneath the truncation. The engraving is executed in the refined late-Baroque portrait style characteristic of the Dresden mint.
