Obverse description Unadorned right-facing bust of Frederick August III, Elector of Saxony, depicted in military uniform with elaborate epaulettes, decorative gorget, and a tied cravat, rendered in high relief with finely engraved detail. The portrait fills the centre of the field in the neo-classical style characteristic of late 18th-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading FID AVGUST D G DVX SAX ELECTOR, identifying the ruler by name and title. The inner border is defined by a raised rim with fine dentilation.
