| Obverse description | The right two-thirds of the face is occupied by an intaglio vignette of the Cerrón Grande hydroelectric dam, rendered in fine engraved line work with the reservoir and surrounding mountains visible in the background. To the left, a white panel carries the denomination numeral '1' above the bold letterpress legend 'UN COLÓN', flanked by guilloche rosettes at each corner. Three facsimile signatures appear along the lower margin beneath a guilloche band, assigned to the Director, Presidente, and Gerente, with the date and place of issue printed at upper left. |
