| Obverse description | Bare-headed and draped bust of Queen Isabella II facing right, her hair elaborately braided and gathered at the nape in the neoclassical style. The effigy is rendered in fine relief within a beaded inner border. The circular legend reads ISABEL II POR LA GRACIA DE DIOS Y LA CONST. around the upper periphery, while the date appears in the lower field flanked by small six-pointed stars. The overall style reflects the academic engraving tradition of mid-19th-century Spanish coinage. |
