| Obverse description | The quartered coat of arms of the Principality of Andorra occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with elaborate baroque cartouche surround. The shield displays the traditional four quarters: the mitre and crozier of the Bishop of Urgell, the vertical pales of the Count of Foix, the horizontal bars of Catalonia, and the two bulls of Béarn. The motto ribbon below the shield bears the legend VIRTVS VNITA FORTIOR in incuse lettering. The legend PRINCIPAT D'ANDORRA curves along the upper periphery, with the date 2003 positioned in the lower field beneath the arms. |
