Additional information

Carlo Felice came to the Sardinian throne in 1821 after his predecessor Vittorio Emanuele I abdicated rather than accept constitutional limits demanded by revolutionaries. The copper coinage reformed under Carlo Felice was part of a broader effort to standardize the monetary system across the mainland Piedmontese territories and the island of Sardinia itself, which had long operated with overlapping and inconsistent denominations. KM#125 was struck at Turin.
