Reverse description The reverse repeats the obverse design identically, as befitting a reverse trial piece: the denomination numeral '1' is positioned above the inscription 'CENTAVO' and the date '1863' at centre, all enclosed within a symmetrical wreath of two olive branches with finely rendered leaves and berry clusters, tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The field is plain and the design is contained within a raised beaded border. This uniface-type trial demonstrates the proposed reverse design for the 1863 Venezuelan centavo coinage.
