| Obverse description | The obverse features the national arms of Nicaragua at center, depicting a equilateral triangle enclosing a landscape of five volcanoes rising from the sea beneath a radiant sun, surmounted by a Phrygian cap above a rainbow. The shield is flanked by two pairs of crossed flags and two cannons arranged symmetrically on either side, with a ribbon tied at the base.
