| Obverse description | Draped bust of Liberty facing right, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel branch, her flowing hair rendered in fine detail. The allegorical effigy is executed in a classical republican style with high relief against a flat field. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA arcs around the upper periphery, flanked by a beaded border. The mint date appears in the lower exergue below the truncation of the bust. The overall composition evokes the Liberty-head tradition common to Latin American coinage of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. |
