| Obverse description | Central field features the Nicaraguan national coat of arms, depicting a equilateral triangle enclosing a landscape of five volcanoes rising from the sea beneath a radiant sun and rainbow, flanked by two crossed flags and two crossed rifles with a Phrygian cap atop the shield. The arms are surrounded by a laurel wreath below and a liberty cap above. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA arcs along the upper periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |
