| Obverse description | The Nicaraguan national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a triangular shield containing a volcanic landscape with five peaks rising from the sea, surmounted by a radiant sun and a rainbow, all encircled by a Phrygian cap at the apex. The shield is flanked by crossed rifles and a quiver of arrows tied with a ribbon at the base. The legend REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters.
