Reverse description Central device comprises the quartered royal arms of Spain — displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León in the principal quarters, with the Granada pomegranate at the base point and the small escutcheon of the Bourbon dynasty in the center, all surmounted by a large royal crown. The shield is flanked on either side by symmetrical olive branches tied at the base, with a five-pointed star at each lateral field. The upper legend 'ISLAS FILIPINAS' arcs across the top, while the denomination 'UN CENTAVO' is inscribed along the lower arc. The design is enclosed within a beaded border.
