Obverse description Central design features a radiant sun motif composed of fine raised rays emanating from a smooth, slightly raised central disc, evoking the Inca solar symbol. The legend REPUBLICA PERUANA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals, while the date appears in large numerals along the lower periphery. The entire design is contained within a beaded border that follows the coin's circumference.

Reverse description The denomination UN CENTAVO is inscribed in two lines at the centre of the field, enclosed within a wreath composed of two cornucopiae overflowing with fruit, flowers, and foliage, including a pineapple prominently displayed at the apex. The bases of the cornucopiae meet at the lower centre, tied with a ribbon bow. The entire design is framed by a beaded border.
