Obverse description The national coat of arms of Belize is displayed centrally, flanked by two human supporters and surmounted by a mahogany tree, all enclosed within an open wreath of local vegetation. A scroll at the base of the shield bears the national motto in the exergue. The country name BELIZE appears as a legend arching across the upper field, and the date is inscribed across the lower field. A beaded border runs along the inner edge of the scalloped coin.
