Additional information

French Indochina's aluminum bronze 1-centime coinage was suspended after Japan's military occupation effectively severed the supply chains that fed the Hanoi and Saigon mints. This 1941 silver striking was almost certainly a pattern produced in France — Poissy most likely — as colonial administrators explored alternative compositions under wartime material constraints, never reaching circulation.
