| Reverse description | The reverse displays four large Chinese characters arranged in the four cardinal positions around the central round hole, reading 百一之分 (one hundredth), with the characters separated by a beaded inner circle framing the aperture. The legend INDO-CHINE FRANÇAISE curves along the outer periphery in raised Latin letters, flanking the top and sides of the design. The date 1902 is inscribed in the lower exergue between two raised dots, completing the bilingual design intended to serve both French colonial administrators and the local Chinese-reading population. |
