| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, depicted with a short beard and wearing robes with elaborate military decorations visible at the truncation, as modelled by Sir Edgar Bertram MacKennal. The king's portrait is set within a beaded border, with the legend arcing around the periphery divided into two segments. The engraver's initials 'B.M.' appear at the lower right of the truncation. A small raised dot is present at the base of the field below the bust. |
