Obverse description Left-facing crowned and draped effigy of King George V, engraved by Bertram Mackennal, with the king shown wearing a imperial state crown and military uniform with decorations visible on the chest. The legend GEORGE V KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA curves along the upper periphery, with the engraver's initials B.M. appearing at the truncation. A continuous beaded border frames the design.

Reverse description The numeral 1 appears prominently at the centre of the field, enclosed within a raised beaded circle.
