Reverse description A naturalistic sprig of the ackee plant, Jamaica's national fruit, is rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, showing leaves, blossoms, and fruit in fine botanical detail. The FAO slogan LET US PRODUCE MORE FOOD curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination numeral 1 is prominently placed in the lower central field beneath the plant motif. The legend ONE CENT arcs along the lower periphery, flanked by ornamental dots, all within a beaded border. The design was issued as part of the FAO world food awareness series.
